Privacy
Short version: the converter runs in your browser, and the temperatures you type never leave it.
What is collected
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit and which features get used: for example, that a conversion happened, which scale it started from and roughly what kind of temperature it was (below freezing, liquid water, hotter than the Sun), that a reference-point button, a FAQ question or a share button was clicked, how far down a page people read, or that some text was copied (only the kind of text and its length, never the text itself). The value you type is not sent. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes your IP address according to Google's privacy policy. Analytics only loads on the live site, not on local or preview copies.
What is not collected
There are no accounts, no forms that send data to a server and no advertising networks. Besides Google Analytics, the only third-party script is Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and measures page speed and visit counts without identifying you. The Donate link goes to Ko-fi, which has its own privacy policy. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which logs requests the way any web host does.
Opting out
Most content blockers stop Google Analytics from loading, and Google offers a browser add-on that does the same everywhere.
